Falling Into Place

Okay, I’ll be honest. My heart is heavy as I sit and attempt to write yet another post full of bad news. But if you’re getting tired of hearing about all the doom and gloom on this blog, please bear with us. As mentioned before, our purpose here is not to scare or fear monger, or to over sensationalize what we see happening in our world. Our purpose is to share with you some things foretold in the Bible about what would eventually start happening so you can prepare – spiritually, mentally, and practically. If you take a bird’s-eye view from God’s divine perspective as laid out in Scripture, you get a glimpse of how an all powerful, all knowing, ever present, just, righteous, and holy God has been calling out to mankind for 6,000 years in order to reconcile us to Himself. He demonstrated His love for us by the most sacrificial form of love possible — sacrificing his very Son’s life in exchange for ours. Anytime we see a cross, it is a reminder of the extent of God’s love for mankind. I do not know of anyone who would be willing to offer their child to die for their enemies. But that is what God did for us: “At the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person – though perhaps for a good person one would dare to even die – But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:6-8)

I believe one way He is calling out to us today is through prophecy. He’s already said what will occur, and He has a proven track record of past fulfilled prophecy. And even though we can’t know exactly how future events will unfold until such time as they actually do unfold, as the time draws nearer for their fulfillment the remaining pieces of the puzzle start to take shape. God told the Old Testament prophet Daniel about things to come and then told him to roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end, when the wise would understand (see Daniel 12:4, 8-10).

The gist of this is that there would come a time when people who study Bible prophecy would begin to understand what is happening, because the headlines and the Bible would start to coincide and make sense. For instance, below are some of the main prophecies concerning Christ’s Second Coming. I have taken these from a Bible study by Jack Kelley which you can access and read the specifics about on the link below. This was a prophecy update Mr. Kelley wrote for January 2011. Already so much has happened since then, particularly in the Middle East with the rise of ISIS and with the Russian, Iranian and Turkish coalition taking shape.

1. Israel will be a nation again. (This happened in 1948.)

2. Jerusalem will be in Jewish hands. (This happened in 1967.)

3. A Muslim coalition armed and led by Russia will attack the Holy Land. (Have you seen the headlines lately about Iran and Russia? I mentioned this in my Recovered News Junkie post and things have certainly heated up since then, as anticipated. It appears the stage is being set as we speak for the Gog-Magog war. It is mind-boggling to me that even many Christians are not paying attention!)

4. The ancient Roman empire will re-emerge as a political force.

5. The world will embrace a single religion.

6. The world will accept a single government.

There are differing opinions as to how these signs, among others, will continue to play out. I am not as focused on the specifics as the generalities that these things will come to pass. Years and years ago I was intrigued by prophecy and my take away was to keep my eye on the Middle East and Israel. Now it seems hardly a day goes by when I don’t read a headline about something happening over there. For me, having an overall understanding of what would occur in the future, and reading the headlines today, I can come to no other conclusion than we are approaching some very interesting times. And to think that these things were foretold thousands of years ago for our benefit, proving that God is trustworthy and true.

Regarding a one-world government, I look at what’s happening in our own country. There is concern by many conservatives, myself included, that the Constitution is being undermined on an ever-increasing basis. Not to get into politics, but without our Constitution America will cease to be America as we know it. We will no longer be a sovereign, separate nation, but will be more susceptible, and perhaps even led willingly, to a global alliance of nations – a perfect setup for the coming one-world government. America is now an impediment, but if her Constitution crumbles and a one-world government begins to take shape, there would be nothing left to impede this path to one-world unity.

There will be a leader of this one-world government who will seemingly arise from nowhere and will have the solution to world-wide economic woes that come about. So here I can conclude that there will be a world-wide collapse of the economy. How close are we to that? I would say that could happen any time. Again, just reading the headlines you get the idea that a market crash or major correction is just around the corner. Will it be the big world-wide crash predicted in the Bible? There is no way to know for certain, but it’s hard for me to dismiss the possibility that the shaking we see beginning will continue. Another piece of this puzzle is the exponential growth of technology which would make all of this possible.

I admit, it seems surreal that any of these things could happen in our lifetime. I check myself daily and ask myself if I am imagining things or losing my mind. But then I read another headline, and I know what I’m reading is yet another piece of the puzzle — I’m holding it in my hand, trying to place it on the table with all of the other puzzle pieces that have already been pieced together, and I begin to see where the piece may fit in the remaining unsolved puzzle, the gap. It looks like there are only a handful of pieces left before it’s complete — before the tribulation period begins, which will ultimately usher in Christ’s Second Coming. And this is where our hope ultimately lies — in Christ and His Second Coming — when He will set all things right, including complete justice and world peace. God has a proven track record of fulfilled prophecies and we can hold fast to His Word to one day restore all things as He intended them to be from the very beginning.

Lori and I don’t want you to just take our words for it. Everyone has to come to their own conclusions. But as Lori said in her last post, how can anyone really say what is true or not in the Bible if they haven’t actually read it or studied it? And if you don’t read the news or watch the headlines, getting a pulse of what’s going on in the world, how can you connect the dots in order to prepare yourself – most of all spiritually?

The best place to start is with prayer. If you are not a believer in Jesus Christ as your Savior and you’re not sure He even exists, you can pray that God will start to reveal Himself to you and He will if you are sincere. If you are not a believer in Jesus Christ as your Savior and you want to be, pray to Him, confessing you are a sinner in need of a Savior, and that you put your trust in Him and He will answer that prayer of faith. And if you are a believer but have been distracted by other things, pray that God the Holy Spirit will open your eyes and your ears to what He wants to reveal to you. Open your Bible again and start to read. His Words will come alive and you will reawaken to the life you have in Him.

I am just a simple person with a general understanding of Bible prophecy and an interest in what’s going on in the world around me, but even to me what is happening is undeniable. I am no scholar. I wish I could lay out specifics and expound upon them. I am not qualified to do that, but there are many, many resources available to anyone who wishes to know or understand more.

We really have no excuse. At no other time has God’s Word been so readily available, yet at the same time it seems like so many do not care or want to know what He has to say. Even now, I am sure there some reading this that dismiss everything being said here, but please keep it on the back burner in case you want to return and give this more consideration at some point in the future.

Finally, I hope you’ll stay tuned. My next post will contain a fast-approaching timeline of some items taken from the headlines that could be, and I stress could be, more puzzle pieces falling rapidly into place.

Holding fast,

Lisa

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. (Jeremiah 33:3)

  1. Lisa, it seems you have been vigilant on your watch to put the puzzle pieces into place. It does seem many current events align with Biblical prophecy.
It is so important,as you pointed out at the end of your article, to keep our salvation and relationship with God in order because whenever the end time does come, God will be faithful to gather his flock unto Himself.
